Seattle-based supercomputer company Cray is aligning with its regional neighbor, Microsoft, in the quest to build a better data center. Cray announced this morning it will work with the Redmond company's research unit on a prototype system that aims to significantly lower the cost of running cloud-computing systems by combining "super efficient power delivery, high-density packaging and innovative cooling technologies."
